Dr. Cotter's Research in NCTM book
Dr. Cotter's research has been published in NCTM (National Council for Teachers of Mathematics) "Growing Professionally" book!
More than 100 mathematics teachers and teacher educators recommended their all-time favorite articles for this collection. The result is an excellent professional development resource for educators at the prekindergarten-grade 8 levels. These wide-ranging articles are presented in an easy-to-use, readable format that can be used to spark conversations about improving practice and student learning. Want more information?
CPSIA
Effective on February 10, 2009, Section 101 of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) sets new limits on lead content in any children’s product. Beginning on February 10, 2009, any children’s product that contains more than 600 parts per million (ppm) of lead in any part that is accessible will be treated as a banned hazardous substance. In August 2009, these limits will drop to 300 ppm and will be reduced again in 2011 to the lowest level that is technologically feasible. However, CPSC granted one year stay of testing and certification requirements for certain products.
How does this affect Activities for Learning, Inc. and your ability to get RightStart Mathematics materials? There is no change. We have tested our proprietary products; the lead content for all tested products is well below the future maximum levels of August 2009.
